The 2011 inaugural Shellharbour Sports Expo was held as part of the Shell Cove Shellharbour City Festival of Sport from 1pm - 4pm on the Sunday afternoon 6 March 2011 at Shellharbour City Stadium, Croom Regional Sporting Complex. This event was free to attendees and provided local families details on local sporting organisations that are available throughout the Shellharbour and Illawarra area. On the day sporting demonstrations and come n try events were held. Exhibitions from Just Move, Kazzajazz, All That Jazz, Carmen & Co Gymnastics and the local Wollongong Illawarra Roller Derby girls kept the crowd cheering.
Come n try events saw the young locals try their hands at Tennis, Speedminton, Cricket, Rugby League, Futsal and Boccia. Information was available from a variety of sporting businesses including Five Star Martial Arts, Health in Hands, Southern Suburbs Netball and the Illawarra Dragons Abreast / Illawarra Dragon Boats just to name a few.
After a successful Expo, everybody will be back on board in 2012 for a bigger and better expo on Sunday, 4 March 2012.
